For U.G. Programmes

  • Students who qualify for Higher Secondary or equivalent (in the 10+2 system) are eligible to apply for admission to the courses, subject to their fulfilling the eligibility criteria as given below:
  • The total number of seats under different categories and the minimum eligibility criteria (cutoff percentage) for applying for admission to various Honours courses is given as under. (Aggregate will be calculated based on the best four electives at Higher Secondary or equivalent).

All students wishing to be admitted in the Undergraduate Honours Degree course in different subjects and fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria mentioned above. Above will have to go through a screening process (which may involve a written test), the modalities of which will be decided by the individual departments.

For P.G. Programmes

  • Students of The Sanskrit College and University who will successfully qualify for Honours courses will be selected based on merit in terms of marks secured at the Honours level.
  • Such students will fill up Sixty per cent (60%) of the seats.
  • Forty per cent (40%) of the total seats will be filled up through a written Admission Test conducted by the respective departments.
  • Students from Universities other than The Sanskrit College and University who have successfully qualified for Honours courses with a minimum of Sixty cent (60%) of the total marks will be eligible insofar as U.G. admission details of Sanskrit College and University Admissions 2025 have been announced.

  • Apply to appear on the Admission Test. Such students of The Sanskrit College and University who have successfully qualified for Honours courses but have not been able to take admission based on merit may also apply for appearing at the Admission Test.
  • For the first three years (or till the time The Sanskrit College and University begin to send out successful Under Graduate candidates) adm,ission to Post Graduate (Master in Arts) Degree courses will take place through a written examination for all candidates, irrespective of their University affiliation at the Under Graduate level, with special preference (the modalities of which will be decided by the Honourable Vice-Chancellor) given to students qualifying they’re Under Graduate level examinations from the erstwhile Sanskrit College.

Candidates can follow the steps below to complete the Sanskrit College and University 2025 application form.   • Read the following instructions carefully before submission of Online Application.
  • Use either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

Steps to be taken for online submission of application:

STEP 1: Fill all the fields of the Online Application Form correctly and sequentially. Please do not enter the wrong data, as that might lead to a summary rejection of the application. Note that the candidate will be solely responsible for data entered in the Application Form.

STEP 2: In case of applying for more than one subject, fill in a separate Online Application Form for each course.

STEP 3: Note down the unique Application ID No. Which will be generated automatically after submitting the Online Application Form for future reference. This is very important.

STEP 4: Print Bank Challan (Student and Bank copy) and Application Form (Student’s Copy) after submission of Online Application. (If a candidate fails to print Bank Challan / Application Form (Student’s Copy), they will click the ‘Print Application Form / Bank Challan’ menu on the right-hand side of the ‘Apply Online’ menu.)

STEP 5: Deposit the Online Admission Fee of Rs.100 (in cash only) at the College Street Branch of Bank of India (opposite Sanskrit College, Bankim Chatterjee Street) within the stipulated date. (If a candidate applies for multiple subjects, Online Application Fee must be paid separately for each subject). 4. Candidates are advised to be very careful while filling up the form, as no corrections can be made once the form is submitted. However, if after submission, it is found that incorrect entries have been made, a fresh form has to be filled out online. 5. No copies of documents such as mark sheets will have to be produced at the time of application or submission of the online admission fee. The list of documents that will have to submit/produced at the time of admission will be attached to the provisional merit lists.
