On a rotation basis, the National Institute of Technology has conducted the NIMCET examination for candidates, also known as NIT MCA Common Entrance Test. The 11 participating institutes of the National Institute of Technology are giving admission to the candidates in MCA programs.

Educational Qualification

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidate must possess B.Sc. /B.Sc. (Hons) /BCA/ BIT degree from a recognized university with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects. OR Candidates having B.E/ B.Tech degree from a recognized university are also eligible to apply for NIMCET 2024.
  • Appearing Candidates: Appearing candidates can apply for this exam. Such candidates have to submit the qualifying exam degree during counselling. All candidates must submit these documents not after the second week of September 2024.
  • Open Candidates: Candidates who pass B.Sc /B.Sc (Hons)/BCA/ BIT courses from open universities are also eligible to apply. These programs are approved by UGC / AICTE and the Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.

Qualifying Marks Criteria:

  • Candidates must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate or 5 CGPA on a 10-point scale in the qualifying exam.
  • The minimum marks for SC/ST candidates should be 55% or 0 CGPA on 10 point scale.
  • Conversion of score marks from CGPA to percentage and vice-versa will not permit.
  • The percentage of marks/ CGPA in the qualifying exam will be calculated based on marks or grade points secured in all the subjects studied in all the years, including languages, optional and additional subjects studied, if any.

NIMCET 2024 Application Form

The Application Form of NIMCET will be available from 1st week of March 2024, and those applicants who are interested and eligible to get admission in the MCA Programs from the various National Institute of Technology can apply for the examination of NIMCET by filling out the application form online.
