As per the information brochure released by the NMC, the NExT will be administered biannually in two sessions, namely Step 1 and Step 2, by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). This exam is slated to replace both NEET PG and FMGE and will be conducted in an online computer-based test format similar to the exams above. However, unlike its predecessors, the NExT will assess both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of medical graduates with equal emphasis.
All MBBS graduates will be eligible to participate in NExT 2025 Step 1. After successfully qualifying in this phase and completing their internship, candidates will undergo an assessment for practical skills in NExT 2025 Step 2.
