NDA 2024 Exam Pattern contains details about the Type of Questions, Exam Mode, Duration, etc. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is the central conducting authority that organizes a national-entrance exam known as the NDA 2024 Exam.NDA Exam Pattern 2024 details the type of questions, exam mode, duration, etc.

NDA stands for (National Defence Academy), and UPSC stands for (Union Public Service Commission). SSB stands for (Services Selection Board). UPSC conducted many examinations, and NDA is one of them. In NDA, there are three types, i.e.  The Indian Army Academy, Indian Navy Academy, and Air Forces Academy. The NDA (National Defence Academy) is conducted two times a year by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).

After that, SSB (selection board service) takes the interview. There are two types of SSB selection procedures, i.e. Part I and Part II. Only those candidates who clear part I and SSB permit to appear for part II. Candidates must be physically fit and mentally okay according to physical standards for Combined Defence Services Examination admission.

NDA 2024 Exam Pattern 

Part I – Consist of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests are Picture Perception* Description Test (PP&DT). The candidates will be shortlisted based on the combination of performance in the OIR Test and PP&DT.

Part II – Comprises of Interviews, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests, and Conferences. These tests are conducted over four days. The details of these tests are given on the website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.

Here we have mentioned the detailed Exam Pattern of the NDA 2024 exam:

Candidates can get the admit card online mode. Candidates can download it by entering their “Registration ID” & “Roll number”.

  • Exam Mode: The exam will be conducted through offline mode.
  • Answer Mode: Candidates must use a black ballpoint pen to mark their answers.
  • Exam Duration: The examination will be 2 hours 30 minutes.
  • Type of Question: The question paper will be objective-type questions.
  • Paper: The NDA exam consists of 2 papers, i.e. Mathematics and General Ability.
  • Total Marks: The Mathematics paper contains 300 marks, while the General Ability test holds 600. The written test will be for a total of 900 marks.
  • Negative Marking: For every incorrect response, 0.33 marks will be deducted as a negative marking in the examination.
  • SSB Interview: After clearing the written test, candidates have to go through the SSB Interview. The interview process will have a total of 900 marks.
  • Language: The question paper of Mathematics and PART B of the General Ability test will be available in both English and Hindi.

Examination Instruction 2024

  • In the question papers, questions involving the metric system of Weights and Measures only will be set wherever necessary.
  • Candidates must write the papers in their hands. They will not be allowed the help of a scribe to write answers for them.
  • The Commission has the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects at the examination.
  • The candidates are not permitted to use the calculator or Mathematical or logarithmic table for answering objective-type papers (Test Booklets). They should not, therefore, bring the same inside the Examination Hall.

Articles Permitted Inside Examination Hall

Clipboard or hardboard (on which nothing is written)a good quality Black Ball Pen for marking responses on the Answer Sheet. The invigilator will supply the Answer Sheet and sheet for rough work.

Articles Not Permitted Inside Examination Hall

Do not bring any material into the Examination Hall other than that thing like books, notes, loose sheets, electronic or any other type of calculators, mathematical and drawing instruments, Log Tables, stencils of maps, slide rules, Test Booklets, and rough sheets about earlier the session(s), etc.

Mobiles, phones, Bluetooth, pagers or other communication devices are not allowed inside the premises where the examination is conducted. Any infringement of these instructions shall entail disciplinary action, including a ban from future examinations. Candidates are advised in their interest not to bring any of the banned items, including Mobile Phones/ Bluetooth/ Pagers, to the venue of the examination, as arrangements for safekeeping cannot be assured. Candidates are advised not to bring any valuable/costly items to the Examination Halls, as safekeeping cannot be assured. The Commission will not be responsible for any loss in this regard.

Negative Marketing

Here Will Be Penalty (Negative Marking) For Wrong Answers Marked By A Candidate In The Objective Type Question Papers.

  • There are four alternatives for the answer to every question. For each question for which the candidate has given a wrong answer. One-third (0.33) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty.
  • If a candidate gave more than one answer, it would be treated as a wrong answer even if one of the given answers is correct, and there will be the same penalty as above for that question.
  • If a question is left blank, i.e. the candidate provides no answer, there will be no penalty for that question.

Unfair means Strictly Prohibited

No candidate shall copy from the papers of any other candidate nor permit his papers to be copied nor give nor attempt to give nor obtain nor attempt to obtain irregular assistance of any description.

In Examination Hall

No candidate should misbehave in any manner or create a disorderly scene in the Examination Hall or harass the staff employed by the Commission for the conduct of the examination. Any such misconduct will be severely penalized.

Instruction About Answer Sheet

  • Write with a Blackball pen your Centre and subject, followed by the test booklet series (in brackets), subject code, and roll number at the appropriate space provided on the answer sheet at the top.
  • Also, encode your booklet series (A, B, C, or D, as the case may be), subject code, and roll number in the circles provided for the answer sheet.
  • The guidelines for writing the above particulars and encoding the above details are in Annexure.
  • In case the booklet series is not printed on the test booklet or the answer sheet is un-numbered, please report immediately to the invigilator and get the test booklet/answer sheet replaced.
  • Candidates should note that any omission/mistakes/discrepancy in encoding/filling of details in the OMR answer sheet, especially about Roll Number and Test Booklet Series Code, will render the answer sheet liable for rejection.
  • Candidates, please check that the test booklet has no unprinted, torn, missing pages, items, etc. If so, replace it with a complete test booklet of the same series and subject.
  • Do not write your name or anything other than the specific items of information asked for on the answer sheet/test booklet/sheet for rough work.
  • Do not fold, mutilate, damage, or put any extraneous marking in the Answer Sheet. Do not write anything on the reverse of the answer sheet.
