KVPY stands for [Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana], is an ongoing National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology. For General Category/OBC: Rs. 1000, for SC/ST/PWD: Rs. 500. There is no prescribed syllabus for the written exam. The students are selected from those studying in XI standard, XII standard, 1st year of any undergraduate Program in Basic Sciences, namely B.S./ B.Sc. / B.Math. / B.Stat./ Int. M.Sc./M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, having the aptitude for scientific research.
The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is a national-level fellowship program. The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, established this program in the year 1999. The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is organized to provide scholarships to the selected candidates up to the pre-Ph.D level.
The written exam aims to test the understanding and analytical ability of the student that he/she factual knowledge. However, an applicant is tested for the syllabus up to class X / XII / 1st year of B.Sc. / B.S. / B.Stat. / B.Math. / Int. M.Sc. / M.S. as applicable.
