The Common Entrance Test is conducted in the KEAM 2024, which is an entrance examination to take admission to engineering courses in Kerala for the year 2024. This year, there will be an entrance examination for the Medical and Allied Courses and Architecture Courses.
The KEAM 2024 will prepare and publish the Rank list for agriculture, Medical, and Allied Courses in June. - Course: KEAM will be conducted for admission to engineering courses and pharmacy.
- Number of Papers: There will be two papers for engineering.
- Exam Dates: The exam will be held on 1st – 9th June 2024 (Paper 1) & (Paper 2).
- Papers: Paper 1 is for Physics & Chemistry, and Paper 2 is for Mathematics.
- Number of Questions: There will be a total of 120 questions in each paper on engineering.
- Question Paper Type: This exam will contain objective-type questions. A total of five optional answers will be provided for each question (A, B, C, D, or E); candidates have to choose the correct option only.
- Subjects: For engineering, paper-1 will consist of Physics and Chemistry, while paper-2 will be of Mathematics.
- Mode of Exam: An OMR answer sheet will be provided to answer the questions. The exam is conducted in pen and paper mode.
- Duration: A total of 150 minutes (2 ½ hours) will be provided to answer each paper (10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
- Total Marks: The exam will contain a maximum of 480 marks.
- Marking Scheme: 4 marks will be provided in response to every correct answer.
- Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted from the total score for each incorrect answer. For un-attempted questions, no marks will be deducted, but in the case of multiple answers, it will lead to negative marking. Candidates are suggested to attempt only those questions for which they are sure that they are correct.

Instruction related to the KEAM 2024 Exam Patten
- KEAM 2024 will be conducted in two papers – Paper I and Paper II
- Paper I will have questions from Physics and Chemistry, while Paper II will have questions from Mathematics
- Both papers will have a time duration of 2.30 hours or 150 minutes
- The entrance test will have objective-type questions where every question will have five options (A, B, C, D, E) to choose from. Examinees have to choose one correct option out of the five.
- Each paper will have a total of 120 questions, making it total mark of 480
- Each correct answer will fetch four marks, while each incorrect answer will be awarded -1 mark (or one mark will be deducted for each incorrect response).
- The candidates who fail to attempt even one question will be disqualified
Critical details to check-in exam Pattern
- All candidates must carefully check the KEAM 2024 roll number and question booklet version number. In case a mismatch is found between the both, the test taker should immediately get the test booklet replaced.
- They must also check the serial number of the question booklet. If the serial number is missing, then the examinee must get it replaced with a new question booklet with the same version number as mentioned above.

KEAM 2024 Cut-Off
To qualify for the engineering entrance examination, the candidate must score at least 10 marks in Paper I and Paper II. However, for SC/ST candidates, there are no minimum marks set. Nevertheless, CEE Kerala will disqualify candidates who fail to answer at least one question in each paper.
