IIT Madras Admission 2025 Application Form will be Released soon. It is a government engineering institute that was founded in the year 1959 in Madras through an Act of Parliament. IIT Madras Admissions are entirely based on marks in National levels entrance exams such as IIT JAM, JEE Advanced, CAT, and more.
The eligible candidates need to also register in the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) portal before registering in the M.Tech applications portal as the COAP Registration number is a mandatory field. This is a common application portal to apply for DMS – IIT Delhi, DMS – IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, DoMS -IIT Madras, and/or DoMS IIT Roorkee. If a candidate wishes to apply to all four institutions, only one application needs to be submitted.

IIT Madras Admission 2025 Application Form will be Released for Various Courses. For Undergraduate courses, applicants may apply by following the specified steps:
- Visit the official website of JEE Main.
- Click on you to apply the link at the home page.
- Register with a valid e-mail and mobile number.
- Download the newsletter that will be available on the next page.
- Read all the instructions and click on the “proceed” tab.
- Fill all the required details.
- Upload the scanned copies of documents that thumb impression, photograph, and signature.
- The application fee of INR 1000 (INR 500 for Girls) may be paid out through Debit/ Credit Cards or e-challan.

IIT Madras 2025 Admissions Process
Admission to the B.Tech program will be carried out on the basis of the JEE Main score followed by counselling (JoSAA). Candidates must qualify both JEE Main as well as JEE Advanced for final admission.
JEE Main is conducted online as well as offline regimes. Candidates can select the mode of the entrance at the same time filling the application forms. Loosening of 10% marks will be given for SC/ST candidates in a qualifying examination.
It also offers a 5-year integrated M.A program in the fields of Development Studies and the English language. Applications for all the PG courses must be presented online from the official website of IITM. The application charge is INR 500 (INR 250 for the reserved categories) with taxes for all the courses.
- For Ph.D. programs, valid for a Score in UGC NET, CSIR NET or JRF is required while for MS (By Research) program good grades in GATE is mandatory. Candidates for the positionB.E/ B.Tech degree can apply to pursue directly for Ph.D. (M.S+Ph.D.) in Engineering or Sciences after you have a Bachelor’s degree. Meritorious M.S scholars with CGPA>8.0 are eligible for the upgrade to the Ph.D. program in the same division and will receive dual degree i.e. (M.S+Ph.D.) on completion of the program.
- Research courses in the field of Management, the applicants must have an MBA degree with a valid JRF or NET score. The application fee is INR 1000 for the entire research programs that are provided by the institute. The maximum trials for JEE Main are the 3 while for JEE Advanced it is 2.
- The candidates must have taken a minimum of five subjects in class 12th. The candidates with 4 subjects at 10+2 level do not have the right to apply. Admission to M.Sc and M.Tech courses are based on the candidate to JAM and GATE ranking, respectively.
- For the M.A program, the admissions will be based on the Humanities & Social Science Entrance Exam (HSEE) score performed by the institute. For Ph.D. admissions, the candidates have been admitted through the entrance exam followed by the counseling at the institution’s level.
