IISER Kolkata Admission 2025 Application Form has been Released. IISER Kolkata an autonomous research and education institute in Nadia county of West Bengal. It was created in 2006 by a ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The institute was founded with a purpose towards excellence across research in basic science at the undergraduate and graduate levels with the same emphasis on advanced education.

The institute comes after a bi-semester system, which includes a spring (Jan-May) and autumn (Aug-Dec) semester to undergraduate and postgraduate courses in science. IISER Kolkata Admission is done through  Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) as well as a JEE. IISER, Kolkata was founded in 2006. It provides a BS-MS dual degree program throughout the duration of five years, at UG level and M.S by Research Physical Science at the PG level.

IISER, Kolkata is also proposing integrated Ph.D., Regular Ph.D., and Post-Doctoral Research program at the Doctorate level. Applicants who passed the 10+2 from an accredited board to apply for a BS-MS (Dual Degree) program offered by IISER, Kolkata.BS-MS admission is being offered through the JEE Advanced score, State & Central Board (SCB) channel, or KVPY scheme.

IISER Kolkata Admission 2025 Application Form has been Released for Various Courses. The Application Form can be submitted online through the Institute’s official website. Candidates can apply by following the given steps:

• Visit the official website of IISER, Kolkata and then click on the “Application Portal” option.
• Register by introducing personal and professional details.
• Log on to your account with your Id and password (generated after the registration).
• Fill the Application Form in the right way.
• Upload the required valid documentation.
• Pay off the application fee through online payment option.
• Submit the Application Form.

Application Fee: 

To pay for the application fee of INR 2000 for General and OBC category and INR 1000 for SC/ ST/ PH categories all through Net banking/ credit/ debit card.

Documents Required:

• Attested copies of the Class 12th/ Graduation/ PG marks sheet.
• Birth Certificate and Photo ID proof
• Scorecard of National aptitude test (if required)

IISER Kolkata 2025 Admissions Process

Ph.D. is offered for the length of three years in five specializations. IISER, Kolkata also offers Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) program in various streams. PDF admissions are being conducted throughout the year while Ph.D. admissions are offered twice in a year. A related Master’s degree holders are eligible to receive a Ph.D. and at the same time, a Ph.D. degree is required in order to qualify for the PDF program. IISER, Kolkata conducts its own Ph.D. Entrance Test in order to offer admission to the Ph.D. program.

The institute provides a Comprehensive Ph.D. program for the entire period of seven years. It includes a two-year MS program and a five-year Ph.D. program.

Students who graduated BE/ B.Tech/ B.Sc/ MBBS or with an equivalent degree from a recognized university can take admission in this program. Even candidates who have notched 60% marks in any Honors/ Major (if applicable) or 60% marks in aggregate, if Honors/ Major does not apply. Action in the case of SC/ ST candidates the minimum marks is 50%.The Institute takes into account the score obtained in both of these central aptitude tests viz. JAM/JGEEBILS/ JEST including their academic performance and score earned in the interview round at the time of the entrance.

The University is accepting the score of national or state level entrance examination. For some courses, the institute also agrees with the merit gained in the previous qualifying examination. Given below are the details for the same:

• Admission to MS by research program is given on the basis of candidates’ performance and score obtained in the interview round.
• For the Integrated Ph.D. program, the candidates with BE/ B.Tech/ B.Sc or MBBS degree carrying at least 60% marks are also eligible for admission.
• During the admission to the Integrated Ph.D. program, the candidates with a valid score of any national common aptitude tests viz. JAM/ JGEEBILS or JEST are considered.
• Applicants with a Master’s Degree from an accredited university are considered to be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. program.
• Admission to the Ph.D. program is administered solely on the basis of candidates’ merit in the respective PG course and the performance in the interview round.
• Students with a Ph.D. degree can apply for a Post Doc program.
• Candidates can choose to apply online separately for each course through the Institute’s website. Payment of application fee can be made online only. The application fee is non-refundable.
