Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM B) has proclaimed the admission standards for its Post-Graduate Programme (PGP) for the academic year 2022-23.

Like last year, the Common Admission Test (CAT) accompanied by Personal Interview (PI) has also been given the maximum weightage this year. The best institute chooses students for admission through a two-step procedure that embraces performance in CAT and Writing Ability Test (WAT) & Personal Interview (PI).

Students who are suitable for CAT with the scores prescribed by the institute move to the next round of the assortment procedure where they are estimated on their writing and personal interaction skills.

Step 1 – IIM Bangalore Admission Criteria 2022-23 

The first step towards admission in IIM Bangalore is to score the compulsory completion along with the sectional percentile in CAT 2022.

Final scores gained by all the nominated contenders (as per the table above) are used for the Bachelors’s degree and professional grades (if any).

Unfinished or intermediate scores are considered only if the contenders’ final score is pending. 

The score/weight for work experience is intended as: 

Pre-Personal Interview (Pre-PI) score for Work Experience = 8x/36 if 0 < x < 36 = 8 if x >= 36 wherein x is the months of work experience equal to July 2019, as taken in CAT application form (and authenticated in the application to IIMB). T

IIM Bangalore Admission Criteria 2022 – Shortlisting Criteria

The CAT score (40 points) is resulting from the performance in each of the three sections in this manner: Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) – 16 points, Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC) – 14 points, and Quantitative Aptitude (QA) – 10 points.

Step 2 – IIM Bangalore Admission Criteria 2022-23

The performance of each applicant on the Written Ability Test (WAT) will be scored regarding content and style. Each interviewer will make use of the Personal Interview to comprehensively evaluate the contender’s motivation and ability to fit in and advantage from the PGP program.

All applicants will be required to provide three confidential reference letters from their managers or knowledge, and this will also be expended in the personal interview appraisal.

If required, the scores in all past academics will also be provided based on actual mark sheets submitted. Unless otherwise mentioned, percentages would be intended by considering all subjects the candidate has appeared for the examination. The final assortment standards are given in the table below.
