The cut-off for GATE 2025 will be announced by IIT Roorkee. The GATE Exam, which assesses graduate aptitude in engineering, is conducted on a rotating basis by the seven IITs. For 2025, IIT Roorkee will be in charge of organizing the exam. GATE is a national-level examination held to facilitate admissions into postgraduate programs (M.Tech/ME) at NITs, IITs, and several other leading institutions.
IIT Roorkee will publish the GATE 2025 cut-off online at gate2025.iitr.ac.in. The cut-off marks are the minimum scores required for candidates to qualify for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. The results for GATE 2025 will also be available online. The GATE cut-off varies by category for IIT admissions. Candidates who score above the GATE passing marks will be eligible for admission to M.Tech courses at the participating institutes for GATE 2025. GATE 2025 Cut-Off
The GATE cut-off represents the minimum marks candidates must achieve to gain admission into M.Tech/ME courses. It is influenced by several factors, including the number of candidates who appeared for the exam, the difficulty level of the test, and the total number of seats available in each institution.
Following the result declaration, the cut-off list will be released. The GATE 2025 results are scheduled to be announced in March 2025, and the scorecards will be available for download from the same month. The cut-off marks are determined by a committee formed by the IIT Council. Based on these cut-off marks, a merit list will be created to shortlist candidates for the counselling and admission process.
It is important to understand that there are two types of cut-offs for the GATE exam: the qualifying cut-off and the admission cut-off. Here’s the distinction between them:
- GATE 2025 Qualifying Cutoff: This is the minimum score required for candidates to pass the GATE exam. The qualifying cut-off will be different for each of the 30 subjects and will also vary based on categories (e.g., General, OBC, SC/ST). This cut-off is released by the conducting institute along with the exam results.
- GATE 2025 Admission Cutoff: This cut-off indicates the minimum score required to secure admission into M.Tech/ME programs at participating institutes. The admission cut-off is released by each participating institute at the time of admission and can differ from the qualifying cut-off.
GATE 2025 Opening & Closing Ranks
The GATE cut-off marks for IITs and NITs are published as opening and closing ranks. Following the announcement of GATE results, IITs and NITs will begin their M.Tech admission processes individually. After the application and interview stages, these institutes will release the opening and closing ranks for GATE.
