The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is the national-level entrance examination, which the NTA organizes as a statutory body under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India to get admission into management programs.
The NTA (National Testing Agency) will now conduct the Test. The CMAT is a three-hour computer-based online test conducted in a single session to evaluate the candidate’s ability across various segments like Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, and General Awareness.
The NTA has reduced the burden of students attending multiple examinations and has launched the first national-level Common Management Admission Test (CMAT). First of all, candidates will get detailed information about CMAT Eligibility Criteria.
CMAT Eligibility Criteria 2025
The applicants must check their eligibility criteria before filling out the application form, and the eligibility criteria of various programs are mentioned below.
- The applicant must be a citizen of India.
- Graduates in any discipline can apply for the CMAT Exam.
- Final-year students of Graduate Courses (10+2+3) whose results will be declared before the commencement of admission for the academic year 2025-21 can also apply for the CMAT online exam.
- Nationality: As per CMAT Eligibility criteria, applicants must be a citizens of India.
- Age limit: There is no age limit for applying to CMAT 2025
- Educational Qualification: Candidates with a bachelor’s degree under a 10+ 2+3 system can apply. Even the final year graduation candidates, provided their results have been declared before admission.

The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Candidates appearing for the final year of the bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) whose results will be declared before admission for the academic year 2025-21 can also apply for the CMAT 2025 computer-based test (CBT).

CMAT Reservation 2025
For admission to a participating institute, please see the reservations applicable to that particular institute in the case of institutes run by the Central Government.
- 15% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC).
- 7.5% for the category Scheduled Tribe (ST).
- 27% for the category Other Backward Classes belonging to “e “ Non Creamy l”yer” (OBC-NCL).
- Each category will have 5% reservations for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) as defined in The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act 2016).
Other Backward Classes – Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) are as per the Central list of Other Backward Classes available on the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC), Government of India website www.ncbc.nic..in Thus, the candidates falling in this list may mention OBC in the Category Column. State list OBC Candidates not in OBC-NCL (Central List) must choose General.
Persons with disabilities (PwD) means a person with not less than forty per cent (40%) of a specified disability where a specified disability has not been defined in measurable terms and includes a person with a disability where a specified disability has been defined in measurable terms, as certified by the certifying authority”y. “Specified Disabi”city” means the disabilities as specified in the Schedule of the RPwD Act 2016.
The Categories of Disabilities are
- Blindness and low vision
- Deaf and hard of hearing
- Locomotor disabilities including cerebral palsy, leprosy, dwarfism, acid attack victims, and muscular dystrophy
- Autism, intellectual disability, specified learning disability, and mental illness, and
- Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (i) to (iv)
- Other special disabilities are mentioned in the Schedule of the RPwD Act 2016.
No change in the category will be entertained after the last date of the CMAT-2025 Application form, and no subsequent changes will be effective for CMAT Score 2025.
Please refer to the Office Memorandum issued by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment dated 29 August 2018 (F.No.34-02/2015-DD-III), guideline IV, second paragraph.
In the case of persons with benchmark disabilities in the category of blindness, locomotor disability (both arm affected-BA), and cerebral palsy, the facility of scribe/reader/lab assistant shall be given, if so desired by the person.
The candidates who require a scribe/reader as per above must submit the request in writing to the Centre Superintendent along with a disability certificate issued by the authorized Medical Officer at least one week before the examination date.
The Centre Superintendent will identify the scribe/ reader from students studying one class lower. If a request is received from the candidate, they would be allowed to meet the scribe a day before the examination to verify the suitability of the scribe.
One hour of compensatory time will also be allowed to the candidates who are availing the facility of scribe/reader.
Subject-Specific Eligibility Norms
These are the specific subject requirements for admission to the given course.
M.B.A/P.G.D.M:
- The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree recognized by the state/central government.
- A Bachelor’s degree must be of a minimum 3-year duration.
- The candidate must have secured at least 50% marks (45% in the case of SC/ST candidates) with a bachelor’s degree.
Executive P.G.D.M:
- The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree recognized by the state/central government.
- Bachelor’s degree must be of a minimum 3-year duration.
- The candidate must have at least five years of work experience.
- The candidate must have secured at least 50% marks (45% in the case of SC/ST candidates) with a bachelor’s degree.
P.G.C.M:
- The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree recognized by the state/central government.
- Bachelor’s degree must be of a minimum 3-year duration.
- The candidate must have secured at least 50% marks (45% in the case of SC/ST candidates) with a bachelor’s degree.

There are four marks for each Correct Answer. There shall be negative markings for wrong answers; one mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer.
At the test centre, each candidate will be seated at a desk with a computer terminal and provided with rough papers for calculations and a Pen/Pencil. After the test, the candidate must leave the rough papers at the desk. Rough work cannot be done on any other paper/sheet, as nothing will be allowed inside the examination room/hall.
Candidates are NOT allowed to carry an Instrument/Geometry/Pencil box, Handbag, Purse, Any Paper/ Stationery/Textual material (printed or written material), Eatables and Water (loose or packed), Mobile Phone/ Ear Phone/Microphone/Pager, Calculator, Camera, Tape Recorder, any metallic item or electronic gadgets, etc. in the Examination Room/ Hall.

Diabetic students can carry eatables like sugar tablets/fruits (like bananas/apples/oranges) and transparent water bottles to the examination hall. However, they will not be allowed to carry packed foods like chocolate/candy/sandwiches, etc.
