CMAT 2024 Cut-Off
The cut-off for CMAT 2024 will be released separately by each participating college through online mode. The cut-off will be different for different categories. The participating colleges will conduct their selection process after the release of the cut-off. The selection process for CMAT 2024 will include a group discussion (GD), a personal interview (PI), and a written ability test (WAT). The participating colleges will prepare the final admission list based on the results of these rounds.
CMAT 2024 Selection Process
The CMAT 2024 selection process will be conducted in two phases:
- Entrance Exam: The entrance exam will be a computer-based test (CBT) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The exam will be of 3 hours duration and will consist of 3 sections: Quantitative Techniques, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and English Language.
- Counselling: The participating institutes will conduct the counselling process based on the candidate’s performance in the entrance exam.
The participating institutes may also conduct other rounds of selection, such as a group discussion (GD), a personal interview (PI), or a written ability test (WAT). The participating institutes will release the exact details of the selection process. The weightage of each component of the selection process will vary from college to college. However, the GD, PI, and WAT are all important parts of the process, and candidates should prepare for all of them. The selection process for CMAT 2024 will include a group discussion (GD), a personal interview (PI), and a written ability test (WAT).
- Group Discussion (GD): The GD tests a candidate’s communication and teamwork skills. The candidates will be given a topic and asked to discuss it in a group. The GD is an important part of the selection process, as it helps the participating colleges to assess the candidate’s ability to think critically and communicate effectively.
- Personal Interview (PI): The PI tests a candidate’s personality and motivation. The candidate will be asked about their academic background, career goals, and why they want to pursue an MBA. The PI is an important part of the selection process, as it helps the participating colleges to assess the candidate’s fit for the MBA course.
- Written Ability Test (WAT): The WAT tests a candidate’s writing skills. The candidate will be given a topic and asked to write an essay. The WAT is an important part of the selection process, as it helps the participating colleges to assess the candidate’s ability to communicate effectively in writing.
CMAT Selection Procedure
The CMAT is an entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India for admission to various management courses, such as MBA, PGDM, and similar courses offered by participating institutions. The selection process generally involves the following steps:
- CMAT Exam Registration and Application: Candidates interested in pursuing management courses must register for the CMAT exam by filling out an online application form on the official NTA CMAT website. The application process usually includes providing personal details, educational qualifications, choice of test centres, and uploading a photograph and signature.
- Admit Card: Once the application process is complete and the exam date approaches, candidates can download their admit cards from the official website. Admit cards contain important details such as the candidate’s roll number, exam centre, and exam timings.
- CMAT Exam: The CMAT is a computer-based test (CBT) that assesses candidates’ abilities in areas such as Quantitative Techniques and data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, and General Awareness. The exam usually consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and is conducted over a specific duration.
- CMAT Result: NTA releases the CMAT exam results on its official website after the exam. The result typically includes the candidate’s score, percentile rank, and sometimes the raw score.
- Participating Institutes and Application: Candidates can apply to various management institutes using their CMAT scores. Each participating institute may have its application process, which could involve submitting additional documents such as a Statement of Purpose (SOP), Letters of Recommendation (LOR), and academic transcripts.
- Institute-specific Selection Process: Institutes that accept CMAT scores may have their selection processes, which could include group discussions (GD), personal interviews (PI), written ability tests (WAT), and other evaluation criteria. The weightage given to CMAT scores and other components varies from institute to institute.
- Final Merit List and Admission Offers: Institutes evaluate candidates based on their CMAT scores, performance in selection rounds (GD/PI/WAT), academic background, and other criteria. They then release a final merit list of selected candidates. Successful candidates receive admission offers from the institutes.
CMAT Score Vs Percentile
The CMAT score and percentile are two ways to measure a candidate’s performance in the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT). The CMAT score is the total number of marks a candidate scores in the exam, while the percentile is the percentage of candidates who scored lower than the candidate in the exam. The CMAT score is calculated by adding the candidate’s marks in each exam section. The maximum CMAT score is 300. The percentile is calculated by comparing the candidate’s score to the scores of all the other candidates who took the exam. The percentile is between 0 and 100, with 100 being the highest percentile.
The CMAT score is the primary factor the participating institutes use to shortlist candidates for admission. However, the percentile can also be used as a factor, especially for candidates with similar CMAT scores. An example is
- Two candidates score 270 on the CMAT exam.
- The first candidate has a percentile of 95, while the second has a percentile 85.
In this case, the participating institutes will likely prefer the first candidate, as they have a higher percentile. The CMAT score and percentile are important factors when applying for MBA courses. However, the percentile is a more accurate measure of a candidate’s performance in the exam, as it considers the scores of all the other candidates who took the exam.
CMAT Percentile Predictor
There are many CMAT percentile predictors available online. The predictor may ask for information such as the candidate’s academic background, mock test scores, and the difficulty level of the CMAT exam. It is important to provide accurate information, as this will affect the estimate’s accuracy.
It is also important to note that CMAT percentile predictors are not always updated. The difficulty level of the CMAT exam may vary from year to year, so it is important to use an up-to-date predictor. Here are some of the CMAT percentile predictors available online:
- MBAUniverse CMAT Percentile Predictor: This predictor uses a candidate’s academic background, mock test scores, and the difficulty level of the CMAT exam to estimate their percentile.
- CMAT Percentile Predictor by Career Launcher: This predictor uses a candidate’s academic background, mock test scores, and the difficulty level of the CMAT exam to estimate their percentile.
- CMAT Percentile Predictor by IMS Prometric: This predictor uses a candidate’s academic background, mock test scores, and the difficulty level of the CMAT exam to estimate their percentile.
CMAT 2024 Counselling
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will not conduct a centralised counselling process for qualified candidates. The different institutions and universities will conduct the counselling process based on the candidate’s performance in the entrance exam. A merit list will be prepared based on the candidate’s performance in the entrance exam. Candidates can appear in the counselling process conducted by the different institutions and universities based on their marks on the CMAT 2024 scorecard.
All qualified candidates must bring important documents at the time of counselling. Candidates will also have to submit the fees during the counselling process. Seats will be allotted to the shortlisted candidates based on their scores of CMAT, filled choice, and availability of seats. The CMAT 2024 counselling will be a two-stage process:
- Seat Allotment: The participating institutes will first release a merit list based on the candidate’s CMAT score. The candidates who have qualified for the merit list will be invited to participate in the seat allotment process.
- Document Verification: The candidates allotted a seat must participate in the document verification process. The participating institutes will verify the documents the candidates submit to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria.
Required Documents at the Counselling Time

The reservation policy is in place to ensure that all sections of society have equal opportunities to access quality education.
