BHU Admission 2025 Eligibility
BHU Admission 2025 eligibility criteria outline the qualifications required for candidates to apply for various undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate programs. Master of Business Administration – International Business (MBA – IB) – 46 seats
With specialization* in Marketing/ Human Resource Management / Finance/Operations Management/ Information Technology / Global Business Operations (as specified in the prevailing ordinance governing the conduct of the Program)

Eligibility for MBA and MBA-IB Program:
Admission to the MBA & MBA-IB Programs shall be made through CAT. Eligibility criteria defined under CAT shall be deemed applicable provided candidates belonging to categories other than SC / ST have secured a minimum of 50% marks at the qualifying examination. For SC/ST candidates, at least 45% marks are required.
- A graduate degree under 10+2+3 Pattern,
OR
- A degree in Agriculture, Technology, Medicine, Education or Law,
OR
- A Post-graduate degree in any discipline.
Important Notes:
- The above qualifying degree must be obtained from any Indian University/Institution recognized by AIU/AICTE.
- To be eligible for admission, the candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate at the qualifying examination as given above under
- , (b) or (c) as the case may be. For SC/ST candidates, at least 45% marks are required.
- A candidate appearing at the qualifying examination is required to furnish a certificate from the Head of the Institution where they are pursuing the course of study to the effect that they have appeared or will be appearing in the qualifying examination to be concluded on or before June 30 of the year of admission.
- Suppose such a candidate is offered provisional admission. In that case, they must submit the proof of acquiring minimum eligibility criteria, i.e., a Mark-sheet of the qualifying examination, by October 05 of the year of admission.
The total intake in the MBA & MBA-IB Programs shall be 46 each, and there shall be Reservations for the following categories as per University / Government of India Rules:

The Category to which the applicant belongs, once mentioned on the Application Form, will be final, and no subsequent change will be allowed. If boxes requiring an indication of the Category on the application form are left blank, the candidate will be treated under “General Category’.
- The candidates seeking admission under the above categories must fulfil the minimum eligibility conditions and qualifying requirements.
- The SC/ ST candidates must enclose an attested copy of the caste certificate and their Application Form stating that the candidate belongs to SC/ST. Candidates claiming admission under NC-OBC Category must submit the latest NC-OBC certificate (not older than six months) as per University rules.
The Following are Empowered to issue SC/ST/NC-OBC Certificates:
(I) District Magistrate/ Additional District Magistrate/ Collector/ Deputy Commissioner/ Addl. Deputy Commissioner/Deputy Collector /Ist Class Stipendiary Magistrate/City Magistrate/Sub Divisional Magistrate/ Taluka Magistrate/ Executive Magistrate /Extra Assistant Commissioner.
- Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Addl. Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Presidency Magistrate.
- Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar.
- Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and his family normally reside.
- Administrator/Secretary to the Administrator/ Development Officer (Lakshadweep Islands).
- Candidate must note that a certificate from any other person/authority shall not be accepted.
- 5% seats shall be reserved for Physically Challenged Candidates: (a) blindness and low vision; (1%) + (b) deaf and hard of hearing; (1%) + (c) locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy; (1%) + (d) autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability, and mental illness; (1%) + (e) multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (d) including deaf-blindness in the posts identified for each disability: (1%) (on horizontal reservation basis). Such candidates must submit a self-attested copy of the Disability Certificate issued by the District CMO with the Application Form. The candidates called for Counseling for possible provisional admission will be examined by a Medical Board constituted by BHU and, if necessary, will be referred by the Medical Board to other recognized bodies for the purpose, as per criteria fixed by the University. The decision of the Medical Board constituted by BHU will be final. The Entrance Test for Blind candidates will be held at Varanasi Centre only.
- A SA separate final merit list shall be prepared for the candidates under each of the above categories, considering the combined merit of CAT Score, Academic Score, Group Discussion & Interview.
(g) Vacant seats reserved for SC/ST/NC-OBC candidates may be filled up as per Govt. of India rules.
- Any other category eligible for admission as per Central Govt. regulations as on the last date of submission of the admission application form will also be applicable.
- Admission Under Paid Seats Scheme:
Seats: 15% of the intake.
- Candidates willing to take admission under the Paid Seats Scheme must fill up their options at the time of the group discussion & Interview.
- Admission to underpaid seats will be made after completion of regular seat admissions. A separate merit list will be drawn from the remaining candidates willing to be considered for admission under the Paid Seat Scheme as per the option submitted by the candidates at the time of the Group Discussion and Interview.
Fee Payment Details
The candidates must pay the annual Paid Seat fee of Rs. 1,50,000/- through Demand Draft (in favour of the Registrar, Banaras Hindu University, payable at Varanasi) as the first instalment at the time of provisional admission.
Please note that the Admit Card will be issued only after receiving the Demand Draft of Rs. 1,50,000/-.

The second instalment of Rs. 1,50,000/- through Demand Draft (in favour of the Registrar, Banaras Hindu University, payable at Varanasi) will have to be paid before the commencement of third-semester classes, failing which the student will not be registered as a regular student in the third-semester classes.
- In addition to the above fee, such candidates must also pay a regular fee (as detailed under Point 5 on Page 7) in cash / through a Credit / Debit Card at the Fee Counter of the University.
- The Demand Draft of Rs. 1,50,000/- will have to be deposited in the Institute at the time of provisional admission.
