The AP ECET 2024 is popularly known as the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test, and the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur organizes this entrance test on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education.

The AP ECET 2024 is conducted to offer admission to the candidates in diploma holders and B.Sc (Mathematics) degree holders.

AP ECET 2024 Eligibility

Candidates should check their eligibility criteria before filling out the AP ECET 2024 Application Form, and the eligibility criteria have been mentioned below.

• Nationality: Candidates should be Indian national citizens.
• Domicile: Candidates must possess an Andhra Pradesh state domicile. It is also necessary to satisfy the local/non-local status.

Qualification Criteria

• Qualifying Exam: The candidate should obtain the Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy from the State Board of Technical Education of AP state. OR
• A candidate should pass the three years of a B.Sc Degree with mathematics as one of the subjects in a group combination from a recognized university.
• Minimum Marks: Candidates should obtain 45% marks (40% marks for reserved categories) in the qualifying examination.
• Appearing Candidates: Final-year candidates can also apply, but they should clear their qualifying exam before admission into the college.

Syllabus

Eligibility for Lateral Entry in B.E/B.Tech/Pharmacy:

• Candidates should have qualified or appeared in AP ECET 2024.
• The candidate should satisfy the requirements of eligibility and other criteria laid down by the university for admission.
• Admission for 85% of seats in each course will be reserved for local candidates.
• The remaining 15% of the seats will be kept open.
• The lateral entry seats for Unaided Private institutions (Minority/Non-Minority) will be 20%.
• In the case of university-affiliated colleges, the lateral entry seats are 10% and will be reserved over and above the prescribed intake.
• Sc. (Mathematics) stream candidates will be considered for admission only after filling all the qualified diploma holders while filling up the lateral entry seats based on the AP ECET 2024 ranks.

Local and Non-Local Criteria

Local Candidates

A candidate will be considered local only if they have studied in the State for four years of continuous academic qualifications.

• If candidates are not studying there but residing in AP for four years.
• If the candidate has studied in any institution in the State of AP for seven years.

Non-Local

Non-local candidates will be eligible for admission under 15% of quota seats.

• Candidates who have resided in the State for ten years, periods of study outside the State.
• Those parents have resided in the State for ten years, excluding the period of employment outside the State.
• Children of parents employed in the State or Central Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities, and other similar quasi-public Institutions within the State.
