It was formerly known as Marathwada University & is named after Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar an Indian Jurist, political leader & chief architect of the Indian Constituent.
The university has a wide campus of 725 acres with historic caves & a beautiful hill station look-a-like background. The university has a sub-centre that has PG courses in English, Education, Chemistry, etc., and also a library & hostels for the students.
