GET –Graduate Engineering Trainees undergoing training in the DGCA approved institutes of the Airlines.

AEG –Engineering Graduates in streams other than Aeronautical engineering

DEF – means applicants retired or working in the Defence forces

General – means applicants not falling in any of the above categories

Eligibility to enroll in AME institutes

Contenders must have succeeded 10+2 pre-degree/intermediate or corresponding with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

OR

  • They may also have passed excelled B.Sc through Maths, Physics & Chemistry.

OR

Diploma in Engineering with 50% marks.

Medical Specifications

All students will be required to create a medical certificate from a listed medical practitioner with the lowest MBBS qualification to certify that no physical disability and color vision is usually to become an aircraft maintenance engineer.

Eligibility for Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Certificate

  • Aspirants must not be beneath 20 years of age;
  • They must have exceeded 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics or any other comparable prerequisite satisfactory to DGCA
  • They must have succeeded in papers I, II, and III written examinations of the AME course.
  • They must have at best three years of practical aeronautical engineering involvement in the field connected to the subject for which BAMEC is sought,

Eligibility for Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Licence

  • Candidates must not be not more than 21 years of age;
  • They must have excelled in 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics or any other corresponding prerequisite adequate to DGCA;
  • They will have excellent papers I, II, and III wrote the examination and also paper IV approved course on the specific aircraft/engine/systems;
  • They mean to have qualified for the necessary oral-cum-practical examination;
  • They mean to create a medical certificate from an MBBS doctor that he does not have any physical disability or color blindness;
  • They intend to keep the least practical knowledge of four years in the field of aircraft maintenance engineering.

Categories of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s licenses

  • Category A
  • Category B1
  • Category B2
  • Category B3
  • Category C

Experience for AME license:

  • For  Category A, Sub-categories B1.2, B1.4, and Category B3― 3 years
  • For Sub-categories B1.1 and B1.3 and Category B2 – 5 years
  • For Category C concerning large aircraft
  • 3 years of maintenance experience exercising privileges of Categories B1.1, B1.3 or B2
  • 5 years of maintenance experience exercising the privileges of Categories B1.2 or B1.
  • For Category C concerning aircraft other than large aircraft – 3 years of maintenance experience

How to apply for the AME license?

After performing the applicable exam, contenders must register with the Director of Airworthiness, the office of the DGCA, Opposite Safdarjung Airport, New Delhi with a fee of Rs 100. If all the brochures are found reasonable, the candidate is dispensed with the applicable BAMEC or AME license.

What is the validity of the AME license?
