How to Fill IIST 2026 Application Form?

• Step-1: Visit the Online Application Portal- Access the online application portal using the provided link.
• Step 2: Select Application Type and Initiate New Registration- Choose between the Undergraduate or Postgraduate option. Click on the “New Registration” tab to commence the registration process.
• Step 3: Complete Registration- Fill in all required details to complete the registration process.
• Step 4: Obtain IIST Registration Number- After successful registration, a system-generated IIST registration number will be provided.
• Step-5: Log in and Fill Application Form- Log in to the website using the provided credentials. Carefully fill out the application form with personal and qualification details.
• Step 6: Pay Registration Fee- Click on the “Pay Registration Fee” button. Complete the payment of the online fee through the provided payment gateway.
• Step-7: Print Application Form and Fee Receipt- After payment, take a printout of the filled application form. Also, print the fee receipt for future reference and needs.

IIST 2026 Eligibility Criteria

For IIST 2026 the eligibility criteria delineate the requirement for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programs. These criteria encompass nationality, age limit, educational qualifications, and mandatory exam requirements.

UG Courses:

• Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens, and OCI/PIO card holders will also be eligible.
• Age Limit: Candidates must be born on or after October 1, 2001, to be eligible to apply. There will be a relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to reserved categories.
• Qualification: Completion of the 12th level or its equivalent examination from any recognized board is required.
• Marks Criteria: Candidates must achieve a minimum of 75% marks (65% for reserved category) in the qualifying exam.
• Subjects: It is mandatory to pass the 12th level with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, along with any one language subject.
• Mandatory Exams: Applying candidates must have a valid scorecard of the JEE Advanced 2026 exam to apply for admission.

PG Courses:

• Age Limit: The age of candidates must not be more than 32 years as of May 2, 2026, for regular candidates, and 45 years for ISRO/DOS sponsored candidates.
• Qualification: Candidates must have completed BE/B.Tech/M.Sc or equivalent degree from any recognized university.
• Marks Criteria: General/EWS & OBC category candidates must secure a minimum of 60% marks, while SC/ST & PwD category candidates must secure a minimum of 55% marks in the qualifying degree.
• Mandatory Exam: Candidates must produce a valid scorecard for the JEST/GATE 2026 exam.

IIST 2026 Rank List

The IIST 2026 admission rank list will categorically list candidates who have completed online registration and fee payment. Accessible online, the rank list will be based on aggregate marks from national-level exams, subject to meeting minimum qualifying marks. 

For UG courses, the rank list will be available in the fourth week of June 2026, and for PG courses, in the third week of May 2026. Candidates are encouraged to verify their names on the website to track their application progress effectively.

IIST 2026 Cut Off

Attendees must report to their allotted institutes, where seat allocation for three branches will occur based on the merit of preferences filled. Those allocated seats must be confirmed by submitting the prescribed admission fee and providing original and self-attested photocopies of necessary documents for verification during joining.
