Candidates can check the TS EAMCET eligibility criteria for various courses:
Nationality & Domicile:
- Candidates must be a citizen of India.
- Persons of Indian Origin (P.I.O.) / Overseas Citizen of India (O.C.I.) Cardholders are also eligible to apply.
- Candidates should belong to Telangana/Andhra Pradesh state.
- Candidates should satisfy local/nonlocal status requirements in the Telangana/Andhra Pradesh Education Institutions (Regulations of Admission) order, 1975, as amended accordingly.
For B.E. / B.Tech in Engineering, Bio-Technology, B.Tech (Dairy Technology), B.Tech (Ag. Engineering) and 50% seats in B. Pharmacy, B.Tech (Food Technology (F.T.)) Courses:

Qualifying Exam
Candidates must have passed or appeared in 10+2 or any equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology as optional subjects or related vocational courses in the fields of Engineering and Technology conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana or Andhra Pradesh. OR
- Candidates must have passed or appeared in the final year of the Diploma examination in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana or Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized equivalent to the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana or A.P.
- For candidates applying for B.Tech in Food Technology, candidates must have passed or appeared in the final year of 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board as equivalent to the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana or Andhra Pradesh with any two or three of the subjects:
- Mathematics
- Physical Sciences
OR
- Physical Sciences
- Biological or Natural Sciences
Qualifying Exam Marks
Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in the subjects mentioned above in 10+2 or any equivalent examination (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category).
Local areas:
- Andhra University (A.U. area) includes the Nagarjuna University area.
- Sri Venkateswara University (S.V.U. area) includes the Sri Krishnadevaraya University area.
- Osmania University (O.U. area) includes the Kakatiya University area.
Nonlocal areas:
- Candidates not meeting the above criteria will be considered nonlocals.
- Candidates belonging to the PIO / OCI category will be considered under the nonlocal category only.
A candidate will be regarded as a local candidate about a local area (AU/ OU/ SVU) in the following cases:
- If they have studied in an educational institution or institutions in such local area for four or more consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which they appeared or first appeared in the relevant qualifying examination, as the case may be.
- During the whole or any part of the four consecutive academic years in which they appeared, or first appeared in the relevant qualifying examination, they have not studied in any educational institutions if they resided in that local area for not less than four years immediately preceding the date of commencement of the relevant qualifying examination in which they appeared, or first appeared, as the case may be.
- If they have studied in the educational institutions in the state for a period of not less than seven consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which they appeared or first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination, as the case may be, be regarded as a local candidate about
- Local area where they studied for the maximum period of seven years.
OR
- Where the period of their study in two or more local areas is equal, such local area where they studied last in such equal periods.
- If during the whole or any part of the seven consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which they appeared or first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination, they have not studied in the educational institutions in any local area, but have resided in the state during the whole of the said period of seven years, be regarded as a local candidate about
- Such a local area where they have resided for the maximum period out of seven years.
OR
- Where the period of their residence in two or more local areas is equal to the area where they resided last in such periods.
- Candidates in the PIO/ OCI category will be considered under the nonlocal category only.
- Candidates under any of the categories below will be treated as ‘Nonlocal’ in all three University areas specified above.
- Candidates who have resided in T.S./ A.P. for ten years or more, excluding the study period outside this state.
OR
- Candidates either of whose parents have resided in this state for a total period of 10 years or more, excluding the periods of employment outside the state
OR
