Indian Institute Of Technology, Kharagpur, widely known as IIT Kharagpur or IIT KGP, was formed in 1951. It is a Public Engineering Institute and it is located in Kharagpur, West Bengal. IIT Kharagpur 2025 Admissions Process

For admission to B.Tech. the program must go through a national-level entrance test, known as JEE Main at the same time as those prepared to take admission in B.Arch. and integrated B.Tech. + M.Tech must go through the JEE Advanced. LLB program candidates must appear in an entrance test conducted by IIT.

M.Sc: To ask for admission in M.Scand built-in M.Sc. programs, candidates have to pass an entrance exam, commonly known as JAM (Joint Admission Test).

MBA, MHRM, LLM, MMST, and MCP + Ph.D.: Admission to MBA and MHRM programs occurs through the Common Admission Test (CAT). Candidates are prepared to get admission to the MMST program, should go through the MMST entrance exam which is being conducted by IIT. Candidates who are seeking admission to the LLM program must go through the All India Common Entrance Examination (CET). Selection in the MCP + Ph.D. program is made through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).

Ph.D.: An entrance test to be followed by an interview is conducted by the respective division to get admission to the Ph.D. program.
