The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test is abbreviated as OTET, and it is the popular eligibility test of Odisha State. This test is organized by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, to provide teacher jobs to the candidates, those who are graduates and diploma holders.

They will be allotted as teachers for Primary (Class 1st-5th) and Upper Primary (Class 6th-8th) classes.

OTET Exam Pattern 2024 

Those applicants who have applied for the OTET examination and want to score qualified marks in the examination; should prefer the exam pattern for better preparation for the examination.

With the help of the exam pattern, applicants will be able to know the complete structure of the question paper. The exam pattern details as mentioned below.

• All the questions will be Multiple Choice Questions, each carrying one mark, with four alternatives, out of which one answer will be correct. Questions will be set to assess the candidate’s ability to analyze, interpret and apply the subject matter.
• There shall be two papers of the OTET viz- Paper-I and Paper-II.
• The total duration of the test in each paper shall be 2½ hours.
• All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), each carrying one mark with four alternatives, of which one answer is correct.
• The question papers in non-language subjects shall be bilingual, i.e., Odia and English.
• The following languages shall be offered in Language – I: Odia, Hindi, Telugu, Urdu, and Bengali. The candidate must choose any of the above languages for the Language-I subject.
• Language-II subject shall be English for all candidates.
• There shall be no negative marking.
