The Andhra Pradesh State Teacher Eligibility Test is the popular state-level eligibility test, which is organized by the Commissioner of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, to select the candidates for the post of teacher (from Class I to Class VIII) in all schools (Government/ ZP/ MP/ Municipal/ Recognised Private Aided & Private Unaided, etc.) in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Through online mode, the APTET examination is conducted and every year many of the applicants appear in this examination to be appointed as teachers from Class I to Class V (Category I).

APTET 2024 Eligibility Criteria 

Those applicants are going to apply for the APTET examination; they must have to check their eligibility criteria. To apply in this examination, candidates must have the minimum qualifications prescribed for a teacher for category I to V classes (Paper-I) and VI to VIII classes (Paper-II).

Educational Qualification:

1. Minimum Qualifications for Classes I-V: for candidates already in possession of Respective Teacher Education Certificates or pursuing a final year of respective Teacher Education Course during 2016-2017 or earlier:

Intermediate/ Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks (For SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%) & pass in 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education/ 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) / 2 – year Diploma in Education (Special Education)

OR

Intermediate/ Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 45% marks (For SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 40%) & pass in 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education/ 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education. (B.El.Ed.)/ 2 – year Diploma in Education (Special Education) in case of the candidates who have passed or are admitted to D.El.Ed / D.Ed., course prior to the issue of these guidelines.

2. Minimum Qualifications for Classes VI-VIII: for candidates already in possession of Respective Teacher Education Certificates or pursuing a final year of Respective Teacher Education Course during 2016-2017 or earlier:

B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com., with at least 50% marks (For SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%) & pass in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course/ Bachelor of Education (B.Ed -Special Education)

OR

B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com., with at least 50% marks (For SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 40%) & pass in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course/ Bachelor of Education (B.Ed -Special Education) in case of the candidates, who have passed or admitted to B.Ed., course prior to the issue of these guidelines

OR

4-year B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed., with at least 50% marks (For SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%).

OR

Graduation with Language concerned as one of the Optional Subjects (OR) Bachelor of Oriental Language (or its equivalent) (OR) Graduation in Literature (OR) Post Graduation in Language concerned & Language Pandit Training Certificate/ B.Ed with Language concerned as one of the Methodologies, in respect of Language Teachers.
