Eligibility criteria designed for admissions to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs, have been reviewed with the MHRD declaring 20 percentile cut-off marks or lowest 75 percent marks in class XII seeing that the new norm for gaining access to the institutes of national rank.

More, the admissions to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs were made on the source of the JEE Main Rank List only.

Aspirants from the general category only required 45 percent marks in each of the subjects in class XII to meet the requirements for admission to these institutes.

Eligibility Criteria For NITs & IIITs Admission

The new eligibility standard planned for admissions to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs has been announced after MHRD removed 40 per cent weightage to class XII board marks in formulating JEE Main Rank List.

Till 2016, the JEE Main Rank List would be arranged basis 60 weightage to JEE Main performance and 40 per cent weightage to class XII board marks.
